As the school re-emerges from summer break and the hallways begin to teem with life and activity, one is reminded of the tremendous work and preparation that goes on behind the scenes. All over there is the feeling of collaboration, of coming together to prepare for the upcoming school year. The gardeners outside making final preparations to the landscape, the teachers setting up their classrooms, departments meeting to discuss curricula. This all points at the collective effort it takes to prepare a school and welcome in the students. It shows the genuine care the faculty and staff have for the students. It highlights the heart of education – to support each student, to prepare them to be active and engaged global-citizens, and to give them the resources needed to better themselves and improve the world around them. Tim Kelley often remarks: “A school without kids is simply not right!” Soon enough things will be set right – the students will arrive and once again bring life to the school – and everyone here is eagerly anticipating this!
