Changing Lives, Opening Minds

Europe is changing quickly. Technological advances, increasing globalization and widespread migration create both new opportunities and challenges. We strive to play a key role in meeting these challenges by driving education forward and being in the forefront of change and innovation.

Erasmus+ offers ISS a wide-ranging benefit within two key action areas:

Staff Mobilities (Key Action 1):
allows teachers and school staff to attend training or job shadowing in a European country. It also allows schools to provide these activities for visiting teachers/staff. This strand of Erasmus Plus is devoted to European placements and development opportunities.  Between 2014 and 2017 65 ISS teachers and staff benefited from professional development within Europe that has been funded under this action area.

Strategic Partnerships (Key Action 2):
allow schools to work with other schools in Europe to improve teaching and learning approaches, and the quality and relevance of education and training. School Partnerships belong to the part of Erasmus+ which aims to foster cooperation for innovation and education.

The project "Digital Citizens in Action" has been successfully completed with partner schools from Latvia and Turkey.

We currently have two projects running:

  • "Promoting European Traditions by means of Dual Language Teaching" with partner schools in Holland, Estonia and Spain and
  • "We rethink our Playgrounds as a Learning Environment" with partner schools from Poland, Italy and the UK.
