ISS follows the German tradition of the “Schultuete”

Do you remember your own first day of school? To mark the very special occasion of students moving into the Primary School, ISS follows the German tradition of the “Schultuete”. This is a large decorated cone, which is filled with school supplies, candy, and toys. Traditionally, children proudly carry the “Tuete” with them on the first day, letting the world know that they are starting school. Although some of our students have already spent some years at ISS, the move into Grade 1 is still a big step and we are proud that the Grade 1 students and families want to observe this tradition.

Grade 1 students on our Sindelfingen Campus celebrated this tradition last week and students on our Degerloch Campus will celebrate this week due to weather conditions.
