El Día de los Muertos

In Spanish, Grade 6 and Grade 7 students celebrated “El Día de los Muertos¨, a tradition celebrated in many Spanish-speaking countries. However, in Mexico it is celebrated in a festive and joyful way to remember the people who left us, families prepare altars with flowers, candles, photographs and the favourite food of the deceased person. They believe that on the 1st and 2nd of November, they come back to be with them. Music, food, face-painting, dancing are some of the activities they do on these days. So that´s what we did in class! Students also baked some thematic goodies and spent an afternoon making masks, alebrijes, face paints, eating…. Nos lo pasamos muy bien!
