Refugees help Danger Boy beat his own record!

Sunday, July 1, 2018

Last Sunday was the last International Café for this school year around 80 to 90 guests from both Degerloch refugee homes enjoyed a classic Danger Boy performance, soccer games on the pitch, all kinds of games in the gym and amazing cakes refreshments.

The finale of Danger Boy’s performance saw the refugee children counting the seconds in German as he balanced a bike on his chin, reaching over 20 seconds and thereby breaking his own record! Many of the refreshments were provided by Grade 4 families who were attending in relation to the current grade 4 UOI.  The families really got involved and some promising relationships were established. Great also to see the 5th grade student who had collected toys etc as part of her Exhibition project there with her family to donate those toys to the refugees as they left.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this venture each month over the last two years.  The organisers of the two homes continue to tell us how much the refugees look forward to it and we will be looking at how to move on at the beginning of the next school year.
