International School of Stuttgart’s Grade 10 and 11 Physics and Chemistry students attended a "Science Slam" at the Max Plank Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart-Büsnau to celebrate Max Planck Day. It is 100 years since Max Planck received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on the Quantum Theory.
At the Science Slam, six research scientists presented their research conducted at the Institute on subjects such as Nanotechnology and it’s uses in Medicine, Virtual Reality, Nono-robots and Nano-magnets.
Eight schools from the Stuttgart region were invited to attend, with presentations in both German and English. Students found the presentations very entertaining and were interested to see how knowledge of all three areas of Science studied at school, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, are required when working in modern scientific research.
