Tone, realism, proportions & poses
Grade 8 art students have been learning about tone and how to create realism using light and shade. They have learnt how to stand back and squint to copy the shapes that they see. Their portraits of Roman sculptures are under way and the results are excellent! Grade 10 art students had two live models this week. They made quick sketches using pencil and charcoal trying to capture the correct proportions and poses and their work will be on exhibition outside the Upper School Art classroom this coming week so make sure you come and check it out if you are on campus.
