A Trip Down Memory Lane
We are celebrating the lead up to our 35th birthday with our rich history and continue to travel down memory lane. 2000/2001 saw more temporary classrooms (fondly known as the "Shoebox") for part of the Middle School, more students and ground-breaking for Phase 2 of the campus project - the new building for the Elementary School and a new, long-awaited gymnasium. This picture shows the site being checked for unexploded second world war bombs! The year continued with ISS gaining accredited status with the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and ended with packing as nearly every grade prepared to move either to the new building or within the "old" one. By the end of August the school was welcoming a new Director and the new buildings were completed and ready for the up to 450 students who were to attend ISS during the 2001/02 school year.
