Breathtaking choreographies several meters up!

Monday, March 19, 2018

March has been a busy and very exciting time for the ISS Cheer Team.  The month started with a visit to the SV Vaihingen 1889 eV.  Cheeky Jets to practice with them. This was a great opportunity for the ISS Cheer Team to see a local Cheer Team in action and to learn new elements of dancing and acrobatics.

The new moves were built into choreographies for both Cheer groups and shown in spectacular performances during the GISST Basketball tournament held at ISS last weekend. Enjoyed by all the visiting teams and large crowd of ISS supporters, the performances on Friday inspired our Varsity team to play with what one supporter described as “passion and teamwork” to achieve an amazing result.

A first for the Cheer Team was the participation of three girls from the local refugee home who have been practicing with the Team since the beginning of the school year. Originally from war zones, the girls were excited by their first performance and brought friends with them to experience the atmosphere of a tournament.

The Cheer Team will be performing again at the Multi-Cultural Evening on May the 4th. Save that date!
