On Tuesday, 21st June, Grade 11 Business Management students participated in a one-day Innovation and Pitch workshop, which was led by StartUp BW.

After some creative thinking exercises in teams and learning about innovation, students considered everyday problems that they and others are faced with, They came up with new products/services to solve these problems and using the Business Model Canvass, created a plan for the product. They represented their product through ‘prototypes’ made with Lego or explained them with drawings. This all led up to the Pitch, where the teams had 3 minutes to awaken the interest of our jury, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A.

After jury deliberations, the winning team was announced. The winning product was ‘Suitable’, an app which lets you scan your clothing, and suggests outfits according to weather, occasion and trends. The team members were Johanna, Siddarth, Helgi, Faith, Lenora and Cristian. Well done!

Thank you to the jury, Mr. Mahr, Ms. Preece and Ms. Papathemeli for taking the time to judge the pitches- the detailed feedback you gave each team was very valuable.

The winning team can now progress to the Baden-Wuerttemberg final in 2023.
