The First Diploma Programme Teachers Collaborative Job-a-like
The International School of Stuttgart e.V. organized and hosted the first DP teachers collaborative job-a-like in South-West Germany. Earlier this month, thirty-four Language Acquisition teachers from twelve area schools spent the day at ISS to delve more deeply into the new Language B IB Diploma curriculum. Participants represented all three language levels (ab initio, SL, HL) and four different languages (French, Spanish, German and English). Teachers used Google Drive to share resources before, during, and after the workshops and also brought copies of textbooks and “hard copy” resources to share throughout that day at our self-created “resource marketplace”.
When debriefing from the day, teachers said they found the day “inspiring, reinvigorating, practical, helpful, collaborative, and relevant”. Teachers remarked about the value of asking questions in a supportive environment, where collectively, the answer was known. Participants left more confident in their subject area and reaffirmed in what they were doing back at their own schools.
