Our Two Campuses
ISS is the only school in the greater Stuttgart area to offer a truly international education – approved and accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization, the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
To better serve the wider region, from Heilbronn to Tübingen/Reutlingen and from Pforzheim to Schwäbisch Gmünd, we operate two campuses. Both campuses comprise the International School of Stuttgart with a shared Vision, Mission and Philosophy, aligned programs and quality staffing but are differentiated to retain the spirit and history of both locations.
The Degerloch campus consists of two modern purpose built buildings. The accommodation currently comprises classrooms for Early Years classes and Grades 1 through 12, together with numerous language rooms for German, French, Spanish and English as an Additional Language. A multi-purpose auditorium, two sports gymnasiums, newly renovated Science laboratories, Music rooms, Art and Design/Technology rooms and two libraries complete the picture of dedicated learning areas. The school works with a professional food service named Michael Schmitt Gastro, an experienced caterer for schools in the area. Michael Gastro provides a lunch program for students up to Grade 8 who wish to take advantage of this service in the cafeteria. There is also a café in the Upper School that provides snack and lunch options throughout the day.
The Sindelfingen campus is housed in a modern former bank building, easily accessible by public transport and from the motorway system. Classrooms are bright and airy and students have the use of a library, a cafeteria area and a central meeting/assembly space known as “Treffpunkt Learning." Upgraded Science facilities were installed in the summer of 2013 and brand new Art and Design facilities were completed in 2015. The campus also features recently renovated playground facilities. Continued collaboration with the Böblingen Sport Verein highlights the school’s close connections with the local community, which augments the dual language approach. Michael Schmitt Gastro is also the caterer for the lunch program in Sindelfingen.
